A Conversation for 'Calvin and Hobbes' - the Comic Strip

Role models?

Post 1

Uncle Ghengis

My sons (aged 6 and 7) have adopted Calvin as a role-model. Rather worrying really, isn't it... But we do laugh when the enter the kitchen wearing a cardboard box saying: "Greetings earthling! Our planet is dying, we need cookies to survive. Do not try to resist!..."

Calvin and Hobbes are a great role model compared to some other cartoons smiley - smiley. The strip has just the right amount of touching, sentimental storylines that it can be a very positive strip.

There was a strip where Calvin finds a dead bird and contemplates mortality. The strip ends without dialogue, with Calvin and Hobbes just sitting against a tree thinking. It's quite poignant.
