So the US and Australia were the Common-Law jurisdictions before Lord Woold delivered himself of our new Civil Procedure Rules, eh?

Bzzzzzzt. No, and thank you for playing. The Common Law pre-dates the very existence of the US and Australia by several centuries. Shortly I shall post a brief guide to legal history.

Yep. That's true. But may I kindly point out that the mistake's not mine but lies with the editor? the piece I submitted (A162622) read in the relevant part:

"The roots go back to the 1970s and it's been spreading since; mainly throughout the common law world (Australia, USA and after the Woolf-Report in England and Wales)."
