Please for many years I have been trying to find the origin of a verse called KNOWS. I remenber a couple of lines. Have you come across this Quote? Do you know the author? Do you know the year it was written? Any thing would be a help. Peterr

He who knows not and knows not that he knows not,
is a fool, shun him

He who knows not and knows that he knows not,
is simple, teach him

He who knows and knows not that he knows,
is asleep, wake him

He who knows, and knows that he knows,
is wise, Follow Him

Hi E
..I also think that (in the verse),"simple" is usually
"a child"(-teach him..)
-Did´nt expect any response on this ancient threadsmiley - smiley
..Anyway, does it bother you that Socrates and Confucius are ,appearantly, nut quite consistent on this topic?
