Not quite so impressive from a distance, but snow can also be sculpted at ground level, like sand. One year we had a snow crocodile and turtle on our back lawn.

or if the snow is deep enough you can make snow angels by lying on your back in the snow and moving your arms and legs (the snow does have to be quite deep for this) the chalenge is stepping out of your snow angel without leaving footprints.
