Might be a bit late, but my briefcase is often no more than a glorified lunch-box. Still, I've managed to use it as an emergency auto-closing-door blocker or door-stop, writing surface, eating table, magazine rack, exercise device. And, they can be used to trap someone in, or on one side of, a revolving door.

They can be lowered by a cord tied to the handle, to transfer small items from floor to floor out the windows of multi-story buildings.

One of the more creative uses that I've put mine to would be keeping a rectangular pizza warm during transport.

There must be other uses out there.
