As most people know, really significant news doesn't get reported in the US, so I didn't realize Viv was dead. Could somebody please supply details?
I had some indirect contact with Stanshall in the 70's when my husband did light shows, and better than almost anything else I remember the goldfish in the cistern of the loo.

To the best of my knowledge, Vivian Stanshall died in a house fire on the morning of March 5th 1995.
