I have a couple of the radio broadcasts of this series, does anyone know how many there were? And has anyone got the full set? And can I have copies please?

Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me!

I remember listening to him on the John Pell show in the late 70's, haven't got anything other than memories though.

"Do you mind if I smoke?"

"Not if you don't mind my wife throwing up."

Howdy,

Of thr Sir Henry At Rawlinson End, there are 15 shows in total, many of these are from poor quality mp3 files, I myself have all 15, there are also 5 edited down versions of the series which were broadcast somtime in the ninties, they have been known to be called "Book at Bedtime", if these are indeed what you have then they aren't the definitive shows and weren't intended to be so short by Viv himself...

if you'd like to know more about these programmes you'll have to e-mail me, or somefink...

Hi there, Sir Henry at Rawlinson End and it's even weirder sequel Sir Henry at Ndidi's Kraal are available on CD. My versions were both obtained from Demon Records Ltd,Brentford, Middlesex TW8 9HF. They have an extensive catalogue of hard to find recordings and used to supply a catalogue free of charge.....Hope this helps.

As an American, growing up at a seaside suburb of San Francisco, I could only catch fleeting glimpses of Teddy Boys in the Fifties,
something called the Mersey Sound on a special Sunday evening TV report in 1962; then the dam burst asunder with full-blown floods of Beatlemania by 1964. Flotsam sucked forth in its wake included the treasured Bonzos. Mystery Tours--Footage of Vivvy in while lame suit, death cabbing a cutie.
I got every damn album, even the rare Vaults of EMI Lp. Luckily, I managed the imports at a huge record store in the early '70's. Umbrellas ahead!
And now, he's gone; yet, I scored a CD of SIR HENRY by mail yesterday. My life is changed forever! I'd glimpsed a rare 12-incher at Amoeba Records in Berkeley over the years, as the price crawled from $20 to $50 and above. Alas. But now, it's all here, pristine and
quivering in the laser beams. Absolute bliss. You must have good headphones on to truly relish this marvel of characterization and sonic engineering.

Christmas came early. Bless you Vivian, on whatever madcap planet you
are enshined. We love you and miss you terribly.

Apparently, Vivian Stanshall also wrote a book of "Sir Henry" as well, strangely enough called "Sir Henry of Rawlinson End". It's eluded to on the "Teddy Boys Don't Knit" album of his. I also saw it on a list (can't remember where or when!) with the publishers details (also a blank in my mind) and an ISBN number (can't remember that, either!). Has anyone actually ever seen this book? smiley - smiley

I received the two discs - somewhat later than planned.

I've been trying to listen to Henry at N'didi's Kraal in the car, but all the road noise makes it a difficult task. I'll maybe have to sit down with a cold beer and a set of headphones and do it properly one night.
