I, too, enjoyed Asimov's missives on Limericks, and the Researcher probably did a fine job of capturing the essence of the rules for writing them. It is interesting to note, therefore, that (though the anapestic scheme is codified as:
a:da-da-daah da-da-daah da-da-daah
b:da-da-daah da-da-daah
most of the examples seemed to more closely follow the emphasis scheme of:
a:da-daah-da da-daah-da da-daah-da
b:da-daah-da da-daah-da
