you are correct. The fact that my GPS shows a group of satellites on the opening screen and they each seem to light up as they are found, fairly quickly unless you go to a new area when it is turned off, made me think they were always in the same place.
I'll watch more closely next time I fire it up. Was going to try before posting, but I left it on the boat.
