Heh, I recall seeing some stats for a tonnage of used diapers per year, and remember being staggered by the volume. Sort of thing you could dump in a deep ocean somewhere and start another continent.

It’s all very well to talk about the very young, but don’t forget the very old. You haven’t realized just how humiliating life can be until you have to put a diaper onto your father, a man who once taught everything from anatomy to anthropology at a major university, but who now can barely totter from a chair to the toilet, and usually thinks he’s in the small town where he grew up. Diapers can be very depressing.

Can I just mention that in the UK we call them Nappies.
