Nice entry, Wildman! 
You should have said more about Tam the Gun! I met him in my army cadet days - we all got to stand by him as he did the ceremony and were all excited, watching the ball at the Observatory rise in readiness for the shot. Then a company of army cadets then shat themselves as the gun went off, much to the amusement of the tourists who didn't move an inch!
