In the UK one pint is 454ml - but this is 20 fluid ounces. 16 fluid ounces make a smaller American pint. In the UK "a pint of water weighs a pound and a quarter" while I believe the pint in the US weighs a pound.
Will the mix be too dry if it uses 16 ounces or too wet if 450 ml?

I have a piece of conversion software on my desktop which says that 450ml = 15.83778 fluid ounces, so 450ml *is* (near as dammit) 16 fluid ounces. It also says that one UK pint (20 fl. oz) is 591.4706ml, not 454ml.
My Pyrex measuring jug says pretty much the same thing, although not quite as accurately.

D'oh! I stand corrected. It means I have been putting in too much liquid when it said a pint (converted from metric). Apologies for my wrong assumption.
