I've just been reading Godel Escher Bach by Douglas Hofstadter. He has a very nice chapter on the translations of Jabberwocky. For example how does "slithy" become "lubricilleux" in French. I've not seen the Latin versions. Are they really there on your page or did the moderators take them away?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
