A Conversation for Theme Pubs
Irish theme backlash

I've noticed recently that a lot of the "plastic paddy" style theme pubs in England have now been re-themed or even just had all the theming knocked out of them, as they were taking over cities. Bit of an Irish-pub event horizon.
The danger with this is that we have ended up with this awful "it's a scream" business in a lot of them, which frankly is even more annoying than four hours spent drinking frothy Guinness with widdly-widdly violin music blaring away.
