Is there a company where you can buy all that 'charasmatic' crap they have littered about theme pubs? You know the sort of stuff, those old candle lamps, wicker baskets, ye olde wagon wheel that's stuck to the ceiling.
Just wondering.

Seriously, there's a company near Reading that makes all sorts of "antique" stuff for the pub trade. The landlord of my local had a pile of stuff made when he redid his pub. Boneshaker bicycles, 1920s screen projectors, mining tools; all antiques, circa 1996!

Oxford is currently threatened with a proliferation of
pubs which have junk stuck all over the walls and ceilings.
Tennis rackets, baskets, 78 rpm records, typewriters and so on
They change the name to something with 'ale' in it. On seeing what
had been done to one a friend remarked famously the it resembled
an explosion in a car boot sale. I believe the junk comes from
the catalogue os a Yorkshire company called Thorntons
