A Conversation for Great Moments in Baseball

great job !

interesting that two of the 'great moments' involved the cleveland indians. in dimag's streak, the 56th game was in tiny League Park and the streak was stopped in cavernous Cleveland Municipal Stadium, a difference in 10,000 seats to 70,000 seats. (also, dimag went on another 17-game hit streak, hitting in 73 of 74 consecutive games in a 154-game season.)
as for mays' catch in '54, it was in the old Polo Grounds stadium, which was strangely configured to fit into new york streets, so that the center field fence was nearly 480 feet deep, and mays caught the ball around 460 feet away, which would be far over the fence in any other ballpark.
the giants took game one and two from the indians on home runs by dusty rhodes over the 260-foot fence in right field.
