Venice was the setting for the scary scary film 'Don't Look Now' - Donald Sutherland played a father whose daughter had drowned. He kept seeing a fleeting glimpse of her, wearing a red cape, running away in the alleys of Venice. When he eventually catches up with the person in the red cape - she turns - and it is a ugly old hag.
