Lego Star Wars 2 : The Original Trilogy for Nintendo DS

Where did they go wrong? While I have a great love for anything Star Wars related, I cannot love this game. It's not because it's easy, and can be completed in a matter of days. The graphics are clean and sharp, the controls responsive and the gameplay simple to grasp. Why, then, does this game stink worse than Bantha dung that has been left for a few days? I'll tell you: bugs. The game is littered with 'em. Often, you'll be wandering down a corridor, keeping an eye out for enemies or studs to collect, when your character just vanishes. THEN, the enemy free level will swarm with stormtroopers, leaving you totally defenseless and randomly bashing the attack button in the hope that your attack will connect. Or worse still, the floor disappears from underneath the character's feet. While this has no direct effect on gameplay, it's a little unnerving. Walls disappear, I once had an entire room vanish, leaving poor little Leia randomly bashing into things as I tried to exit. Granted, this only happened once, and has necer happened since, but it was annoying.
Overall, this is by no means a bad game. The dinky Lego folks are cute, the new melee attacks are funny (Chewie FINALLY gets to pull his enemy's arms off) the character creation feature (where you get to mix and match all of the parts of the characters you have collected) is a stroke of genius. All in all, this game could have been a massive success, and it would have been were it not for the silly, annoying little glitches that plague it.
Unfortunately I have to give this game 5/10 as it could have been great, but was let down by tight deadlines and poor quality control.
