(Actually, I thought the town was named after Matt Dillon's sidekick on "Gunsmoke" ...)
Some years ago, I went to a now defunct music club here in Houston named the Fabulous Satellite Lounge. The Bottle Rockets opened for Todd Snider, both favorites of mine. It was a wild night, standing room only, and the front man for the Rockets sent his (expensive) guitar on a surf around the joint. He also threatened to not to leave the stage or let Snider come out unless the crowd got even wilder, which of course they did ...
The weekly news & entertainment paper "The Houston Press" called it the best concert of the year ... after expressing amazement that the Rockets could even stand up, much less put on a kickass show, after all the bourbon they downed at the bar before going on ...
