A Conversation for Platypus

I hope nobody would mind if I submitted a proposed update. (Better the original researcher do it, of course)

I've always thought that the eyes of the platypus also seemed out of place for a rat like mammal, other than their underwater ability. It was nice to read the detailed information about its underwater capabilities, but both the eyes and 'hands' could probably have done with bit more detail.

The tail was described, but as I write this I'm not sure that the description covered its shape.

Hi Fords Towel, I'd be happy if you want to update this. I'm afraid that once I've done my research and written something up I lose interest in it very quickly so if you'd like to do it more power to your elbow. I've dug out the original PR thread - just in case it's of any use to you .... http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F5703640?thread=3600036&skip=0&show=20 ....

Thanks, Fizzy!

If I come up with anything that I think truly adds to your excellent piece, I may go ahead and do that.

I'm glad to know that no offense will be taken. Though I'd be just as happy if you did the deed, I understand what you mean about revisiting old material.smiley - ok

You're welcome, I think it's great - not offensive at all and I've no doubt a lot of my entries could do with additions that were overlooked at the time. It's funny that even the most obvious things can be missed until someone with a clearer mind drops by to notice them.smiley - bigeyes

I remember having a similar conversation with BigAl when my first entry was in PR .... don't suppose you'd fancy updating it too while you're at it.smiley - winkeye

I don't believe that there is any update that could improve your entry on shoeboxes.

In addition, I'd hate to supplant an entry that has what must be the longest entry discussion thread on the H2G2 site! (not including PR discussions, of course).smiley - ok

Ahh I see you didn't flick back a page to my very first entry almost a year earlier .... A13492398 .... I'm pretty sure what we know about this phenomena will have moved on a bit - but not being a science smiley - geek I have no idea where to start about updating it ..... now, if you did - both it and my Fata Morgana entry could probably do with some work..smiley - winkeye
