Is that a lot or a little? It's more than I get an hour...
Anyway, fascinating entry. Another incredible and mostly unknown bit of history. Excellent addition to the Guide.

I would imagine that at the time, especially for women, it was a very attractive salary - even more attractive when you consider it included housing in the hotel and I would imagine at least some meals.
