A Conversation for Lutefisk
Remember to soak the lye out!

On the 9th of December, remove the fish from the lye. Soak in water, changing the water daily (I think) until Christmas eve/day when it is ready for cooking.
I prefer the lutfisk with white sauce, melted butter and finely ground white pepper, black pepper and 'kryddpeppar' (Allspice, I think it is). And potatoes. Some like mustard in the white sauce. Have never tried the bacon version!
