Not trying to step on any toes, but my Yr. 8 Science teacher (who was also the school science co-ordinator) told us that there were actually 13 signs in the zodiac, and therefore horoscopes can't work...

I'd also like to say that those early astrologers had overactive imaginations. Even in textbooks with all the connecting lines drawn in, I still have trouble seeing a virgin in virgo!!

Close. I asked an Astorphysicist about this. I didn't understand 99.999% of what he said, but the gist was that there are indeed 13 signs, or 14, or 15, or, well, they weren't sure really, but it's definitely more than 12, and once they come to a final agreement about how one works it out they'll let us know. Probably.

Bear in mind this: the Celts only had 8 signs, and other nations have more than 12. It's all to do with superstition and making cash.

I was going to use the Chinese years instead of the common old Gemini etc signs but some people don't appreciate the finer naunces of the rat.
