It's true! Cows release large amounts of methane. Methane is both a ozone depleter and a greenhouse gas. Methane is given off from paddy fields as well. The reason is that anaerobic bacteria in the gut of the cow and under the water in paddy fields give off the methane. Methane can also be used as a fuel and is truely -natural- gas...
