A Conversation for Bottled Water
Water taste

I have had an interest in different types of water for over a year now, I think it came about as a result of a fascination with the various tastes of different waters (like the crisp taste of drinking out of a mountain stream etc...).
So I started tasting various waters based on 1. mouthfeel (how it tastes in the mouth) 2. Aftertaste (some waters are 'dry' other slightly sweet)3. Mineral content 4. Level of carbonation (if sparkling - light bubbles / agressive bubbles etc..): Believe me! There is a lot of difference in waters you can buy....
I asked the assistance of 'Aqua Amore' who specialise in many different and interesting bottled waters, and they were happy to aid my education.
The difference in mouthfeel/minerality/aftertaste was brought to life when I was given glasses of a Danish water called 'Iskilde' which had a very velvet-like mouthfeel and clear taste and 'Whitehole Springs' from Leigh on Mendip in Somerset which was very refreshing in the mouth and had no aftertaste, such was its pure taste. I then contrasted this with water from my tap, and the difference was striking. Aside from the initial chemical smell and taste, I found the tap water to be very gluey and dry - the difference between the waters could only be described as being similar to freshly squeezed oranges and the bitter and throat hurting supermarket bargain concentrate!
I have also noticed the health benefits for drinking not only more water, but also specific waters, which has helped me increase my fitness ten-fold .
Water-tasting (amongst other culinary tastings ) has become a big interest of mine now.... I feel like I am breaking new ground in my coverage of it now !!!
Wish me luck
