Wimborne curry

I beg to disagree with your esteemed contributor about the Wimborne Tandoori. I'm currently poised on my third year of boycotting this place because their attitude finally got too much take. No, my vegetarian friend (for whom not a single main course was available) could not eat half a dozen or so side dishes. Must have main course. No, he can't pay the difference. No, he can't stay and eat nothing. Must have main course. Right, forget it. By a bizarre coincidence, however, the takeaway, three doors away, called Indian Nights, is outstandingly excellent, consistently providing some of the freshest and best Indian food I've ever had (and I lived off Brick Lane, London's "curry central", for a couple of years). They're also really nice. Top dish: Aloo chat (but for the meat eaters, their Lamb Rogan Josh is killer bee).

I intend to make a more detailed report on Wimborne soon, as it has several interesting features (former home of the so-called "Pope Joan", for example) and I spend enough time here to be an informed local guide.

Until then...
