Tales From The Toy Box
Created | Updated Aug 6, 2003
Welcome good reader and let us once more enjoy
A tale from the Toy Box, fun for every girl and boy.
Old Grandpa Bear
Old Grandpa Bear is getting very old
He's losing his fur and is beginning to feel the cold
Some stitching is lose, and he looks a little bit shabby
And if you wake him from a nap he can be a bit crabby
He was brought to the toy box many years ago
By a sweet little girl who left him when she began to grow
Old Grandpa Bear has been loved by many since
But anyone as good as the first we have yet to him convince
Old Grandpa Bear likes to talk about his past
How he wishes he could return and this time it would last
So he could talk and play with all those that are no more
We listen to him with understanding because that's what friends are for
And through his words, Old Grandpa becomes a different bear
More younger and contented, as in his past we share
It's a real shame that Old Grandpa's dreams are impossible to come true
That's the thing with growing old, there's not a thing anyone can do
So all you good children with oldsters in your life
Don't think of them as a burden, and moan about the trouble and strife
For abandonment is not just for youngsters a wicked crime
And remember getting old will come to us all, just give it a little time
The End
As told to Greebo T. Cat
