Crackle

What would you see if you stepped outside your door right now?

Familiar scenery?

Doubt it.

What would you REALLY see, if you troubled to look?

... You'd see strong, clean lines here.

... You'd see bold surfaces.

... You'd discover unsuspected harmonies in the division of space.

There is texture here.

There is detail.

Look at it.

It's screaming at you.

... There is energy here.

... The environment is pulsating.

... The sun suffuses this World.

... The rain stimulates it.

Look closer.

There are joints in the carapace.

Foliage thunders through them.

Impossible creatures stampede, or hum in the air.

... Open all your senses.

... You thought you had only five?

... Wrong.

... You have countless thousands.

... Each one resonates to a different frequency in this World.

You will never experience the same sensation twice.

You will never recapture the selfsame thought.

You doubt that?

Turn it over.

Study it.

It isn't the thought you remember.

It has grown.

Blossomed.

It changes even as you ponder it.

... The World still comes at you : gigantic, confident, expressive.

... But you can meet it.

... You are part of it.

... You have a symmetry, a poise, a belonging.

There is more within your reach right now than you will ever know, ever fashion, ever understand.

And yet there is a million times more of this staggering plenty just a few paces away.

Or a day's march away.

Or on the other side of this wonder-filled globe of animal, vegetable, mineral.

There is an abundance of everything, and all of it is always new.

... Every moment that you watch, you see things no-one ever saw before.

... No-one will ever see them again.

... Your thoughts are teeming with discovery.

... You are unique.

... In a second's time, you will be born again, unique again.

Look above you.

The vastness of the sky connects every mind alive on this planet.

Your head or Mount Everest; it envelops every asperity on this spinning stone.

Above and beyond stretches the void in which we hang.

Further yet is Infinity itself.

The stars are blazing down from its margins, whether day or night.

... Eternity is all around you.

... It's there Right Now.

... Welcome to the Universe.

... It was with you all along, waiting for you to notice it.

... You are alive now; the Fire of Life is consuming you.

... Crackle ...
