Thank you for an insightful and interesting look at what most people know *of* but not *about*.
You have given me no end of comments and conversations at the next party I attend. I will only have to hope that someone of your expertise is not present to correct me when I misquote you.
Reminds me of a university party I was invited to when someone said *You don't have to be a brain surgeon to understand......wait a minute, you *are* a brain surgeon, aren't you?*
Thank you.

what did I do to deserve this? Was that all about my little old Chaucer entry? You know, to write something like that you don't have to be a medievalist -- oh, wait. I am a medievalist.
Thank you.

I wonder, do you laugh when you hear lines in films like *I'm going to get all medieval on your ass?*
Thank you.

I would laugh if I heard it, but I can't say I've ever been to those films. I did, however, laugh out loud when I learned this morning that a Musical Production of J. R. R. Tolkein's The Lord of The Rings is planned for the London stage. I thought, "why don't they just restage Wagner's Ring Cycle.
Starbirth, over on the "it's Saddam, It's Bush" thread, just asked me a really silly question. I had posted that if he wanted to be accurate he would say something like . . . and put a hypothetical statement in quotation marks. He asked me who I was quoting. I guess I wasn't clear enough.
Thank you.

Ah well. I tend to think you wrote in leisure but it was read in haste.
Wagner? Isn't he German? *That* wouldn't do....
Thank you.

oops! I wrote in haste. I didn't mean to put that on this thread. Well, the bit about the musical, yes, but not the other bit. Oh, well.
Key: Complain about this post
Thank you.
