A Conversation for A Guide to Buying Flowers

Carrying flowers in public

Post 1

Phoenician Trader

I notice that if I carry flowers in a public place, I get no attention at all from other men. I might as well be carrying wine, a book, who knows, but the flowers will be invisible to them.

Women, on the other hand, sense them from the other side of the road. The looks they give divide into two catagories. Either blatent disappointment because they never get given flowers, or smugness because they know that they are one of the lucky ones who do. These two expressions are so transparent to me in ways women's thoughts so generally are not.

It never seems to cross their minds that I might be buying them for myself. As it happens I am not, but how do they know?

You are neither wearing designer shoes nor carrying an Armani pouch I presume? Ergo you must be buying them for someone else...It's a woman thing...we just know! Like the name btw!
