A Petrolhead's Holiday

My summer holiday last year was ideal for any petrolhead and could be adjusted to most countrys/continents around the world.

I drove over to France with my car club (12 Mitsubishi FTO's - A8240131) we drove to Germany where we all got to lap the Nurburgring (A10281674) a few times before driving into Switzerland. We blasted through the stunning alpine scenery and roared through the tunnels before the group split in two. One team went over the Stelvio Pass http://www.alpineroads.com/images/photos/engadin/stilfser/stelvio.jpg whilst the over blasted down to Genoa and cruised along the mediterrean sea front. Then both groups met up for a couple of days in Monaco includiong the casino and a few laps of the Grand Prix circuit before the run home. This was as much fun as 13 cars in low gear roaring through the mount Blanc Tunnel sounds amazing and then we got to stop at lake geneva before racing Bentleys on the motorway back through France. The clubs off again this year but this time we plan to include the Millau Viaduct Bridge in france, http://www.viaducdemillaueiffage.com/

A road trip like that is special and could be done in any country, in the North America you could include the Indianapolis Speedway, Daytona beach, the Baja 1000 course or motor city Chicago. In Africa you could drive sections of the Paris Dakar course. In europe your spoilt for choice with Ferrari at Maranello, the Fiat test Track in Turin, the Le Mans course in France, Hockenheim and the Ring in Germany.

Petrolhead driving holidays are cool! smiley - biggrin
