I think that the DJs actually record all the stuff in the afternoon, and only the news is live. Does the BBC have a department for making up dumb phone in games for gullible listeners to play?

Those dumb phone games, while inane, predictable and not at all entertaining, do actually amuse various members of the audio radiance. Bear in mind that most people listening to the radio aren't very smart.
