A Conversation for Visiting the Grand Canyon

Bit disappointed with practical details

Bit disappointed with the practical details. Most people only visit the South Rim (you've made some reference to that), but since you imply there's more to it than that, I think more details are needed.

For example, you say the nearest town is Flagstaff. That's fine, but it is near the South Rim. There's really nowhere near the North Rim. I was last there 10 years ago, so things may have moved on, but the nearest hotel (except the one at the rim) was 50 miles away (at a major road junction between key roads from the East, West and South - respectively from the painted desert, the rest of the world and the North Rim). The next nearest was 50 more miles. This probably accounted for why only 10% of the annual visitors to the Canyon went to the North Rim.

I preferred the North Rim, myself, it was a bit greener and somehow more interesting.
