No mention of Halloween? Surely Michael Myers, king of the lurkers, deserves a mention, if only for opening the floodagtes on the teen stalker/slasher flicks of the last thirty years. Nobodies done it better since, for all the trying...
Interesting factoid - the tube station used in American Werewolf is the disused Strand Station, which is kept as a film set by London underground (also seen in BBC's Neverwhere). It has also hosted several showings of the movie itself in recent years.
