Magick

I'm not quite sure about this, but it seems to me that a lot of goths would spell magick with a K, as Aleitser Crowley did to distinguish the real sh1t from what performers do. Magic is sleight-of-hand; magick is bending reality. I've been using this system for a few years, though am probably not a goth.

Well, I'm Wicca, and I have been for a couple years now. Magick with a K is how we spell it because if you use Magic you just think of that fake stuff. But, I don't know about goths. Personally, I've never seen a goth spell it out with a K, and I'm the only one I've noticed to do so. But MAGICK is wicca term for what we do. =D

Well, I go for chaos magick, because that pretty much lets me do what I like without having to worry about whether some sort of spirit is angry with me. Many true goths would have at least a passing interest in matters suck as this, so would have come across it. In these times, however, true goths are few and far between. I do agree that magick is real bending of reality, magic is just fakery.

I read a book once by a well known, respected Wiccan High Priest (of course, now I forget his namesmiley - erm), and he basically said the same- magic is sleight of hand magick is the real McCoy (obviously, it wasn't in those words). I think the spelling of magick- and don't quote me on this, it's been a long time since I read this book- was Norse. I think it was Norse, but again, I could be confused. It comes from one of those languages that pre-dates Olde Englische.
