A Conversation for Tips for Saving Money

Shop at Charity Shops

Almost all charities operate shops where they sell used items donated by supporters. Housewares, books, clothing, toys. You name it. Spend a little time shopping several of these places and you will soon discover the one(s) which have quality merchandise at extremely low prices. I paid US$10 and US$7.50 (this latter one was a half-price sale at the Salvation Army), for two suits which must have cost US$375 to US$500 new (and both looked new when I bought them). My two cream colored dress shirts cost US$3.50 each. My neckties regularly cost US$1.00 (except when they are on half-price sale). Similar bargains abound everywhere. Be selective and don't buy unless you need the item and it's a real bargain.
