I think Kerouac is a light in this postmodern world. He was a saint who lived his life as a good man till alcohol killed him. I began reading him about 4 years ago and my entire life has changed after that (the first book a read was Dharma Bums). His prose is full of jazz and bop and buddist enlightement. We all should read Kerouac.
