Do me a favour and keep them in the midwest please. I am deathly allergic to those horrible critters.

Iris? Are you sure it's iris? There are other things in my yard more suspicious than iris--like the pine tree that is pollinating right now.
Oh, and the elm trees and Bermuda grass.............
Sorry you are allergic to such a beautiful thing as an iris, Marv. Sure am glad I'm not allergic to them.

Never ever heard of anyone being allergic to pine trees - which is one of the reasons, I guess, why sanatoriums where placed in the middle of pine forests in the old days, in Sweden...

The problem I have with allergies when the pine tree is pollinating, is mainly with my eyes--they itch and burn. Of course it could be something else causing that. I've never been to an allergist to find out.
The wheat is heading out--another week and a half and it will be causing trouble for those who are sensitive to it.

25 varieties? I thought there was only one! I've only ever seen one type anyway, though they are beautiful.

There are 'way more than 25 varieties of iris. They aren't all purple either.
We have more than 25 different varieties blooming in the yard now. They range in color from white to yellow to orange, to red and from light lavender to dark lavender to purple and dark purple--nearly black. We have them with yellow standards and blue falls, yellow standards and red falls, pink standards and purple falls............I could go on and on. I have taken some pictures, but haven't uploaded them yet. Will try to do so soon.
We have bearded iris, Japanese iris, Siberian iris, border iris......
They are my favorite flower.
The Chattingly's are under a tornado watch again today. Aah, spring in KS.

Hope those tornadoes go round you, rather than through you! We've seen coverage on the news here about some fairly awful tornado damage in Oklahoma.

Thanks for the good wishes. So far, so good. The weather channel showed pictures of damage in Iowa--to the north of Missouri--they seem to be going places that usually don't get tornadic weather.
