Scotch

Last Sunday morning (way too early) I departed my home down near London to fly up to Glasgow to attend university, okay term isn't for another two weeks but the contract of my halls started on the Saturday so I'll be damned if I'm paying for something I'm not using, especially as I can get to know everyone in my halls.

I'm sharing a room which I thought would be weird but thankfully the guy is alright mostly, the people on my floor are mostly great people (two Hitchhiker's fans :D) and oddly enough in the next room to me is somebody who I never knew but apparently lived about 15 minutes walk away from me back home, weirdness. Anyways laptop sorted out and now have internet connection in my room so shouldn't have any problems getting on HooToo this year, unless the servers go down.

A Levels

As I'm sure everyone knows today was the panicky day of A (and AS) level results day and I was very nervous to see whether I scored the 3Bs I needed to go to Glasgow. Yes I live in Essex, I don't know why I'm going that far either.

Hopeful that I'd scored As in English lit and history but nervous I scored a C in drama and theatre studies I opened the envelope in trepidation and prepared myself to add up all the module numbers to see what I scored. Luckily they were added up for me.

A in English lit (120/120 on post-1945 theatre synoptic paper)
A in history (grrr, missed out on an A coursework by one mark, doesn't matter I guess though)
B in drama and theatre studies (90/90 for acting performance)
AS general studies: B (Like anyone cares)
Philosophy&ethics: A (From last year)

Front Page News

So today I woke up early (which is half 10 for me now I'm on academic holiday) to watch The Ashes after our brilliant 407 all out score yesterday. I turn on the TV to discover that I've missed the first few bowels, and indeed I've missed someone being caught out - for a duck. Australia 1-0, what a good site it was even if they will, no doubt, catch up to our formiddable score but hopefully they will stumble just before hand.

As I was saying, as if that wasn't good enough, the best score at Birmingham for an opening batting side against Australia for well over a decade, I come online to check the status of my currently peer review guide entries only to find that my first piece has made it to the front page. And not just one of the my first pieces, all three parts of it. Jubiliation is a word that springs to mind, I feel legit now, properly part of HooToo. Yay me!
