Existential Elevator

Hurrah! Someone else who knows what Monkey Island is! I commend you smiley - pirate

[sorry, I caught you on the Pythonists thread, and got distracted by this fact upon your u-space. It made me happy. My uni friends play video games - but mainly first person shooters. "What about SCUMM" I cry in despair...]

My first memory of Monkey Island is seeing my brother play it on his Amega Commodore in about 1991/2 and I was ill so my mother told him to stop playing after the first LeChuck cutscene. My first memory of throwing up incidentally but the two are entirely unrelated.

It didn't go too well because he didn't realise you could go up the mountain to explore MeleƩ Island and thus spent a lot of time walking round the village and then gave up. It wasn't until about 5 years later at school it was brought up in a conversation, I think due to someone playing Sam & Max and ever since I've been hooked and been on a neverending quest to track them all down.

I have many of them legally and some of them illegaly (and consequently without sound, which is rather magical despite it being so basic, Monkey Island is certainly.) Also I use SCUMMVM to play them as they don't run too well on Vista.

Have you played the new Sam & Max at all?
