Hello Watermusic. We spoke briefly on the Portuguese Language thread and I wanted to introduce myself. Are you in Portugal right now? I live in USA. I spent a year in Rio in 85-86 where I learned what I know of Portuguese.
I was also asked to help with the Portuguese Teaching thread. I have not had time to follow up since then. I wanted to let you know I appreciate your starting it up.
I've been kind of overwhelmed. My speaking is much better than my writing. What I know is colloquial carioca which I'm having trouble translating. I haven't spoken regularly since the 80s so its pretty rusty too. I'm having trouble figuring out how to make accidentals with my keyboad(Mac) and am having some other technical problems. Thus I have not yet been involved.
So I'd like to help but I'm not sure if how at this point. Is there anything you'd like me to do?

Hi Hellbound,
Pleased to meet you.
I am sitting here in the sunny Algarve (at the moment). We have quite a large English community here and at present am involved in Church Christmas fairs and pantomime.
I am trying to post to the Portuguese threads once a day, at least. It just depends on what our 'pupils' want to learn!
