Hi.
I am subeding your article. It is currently at A2911213.

Just a quick question... is the bird noted in A837047 the same as the one you have mentioned, capercailzie?

thanks.

Hi, pleased to meet you,

No, the Capercaillie (tetrao urogallus) is around a fifth of the size at 5kg and 2'female to 3'male. Found in Scotland, Northern Iberia and Scandinavia.
The Great Bustard (otis tarda) weighs in at 18 to 25kg and stands 2'6" (female) to 3'6" (male). Found in central plains of Iberia, Iran, Russia and now back in Wiltshire, UK.

sorry. maybe I was not too clear on that question...let me rephrase that...
does the article A837047, refer to the last bird in your first footnote?
"A piece of ground where certain male game birds such as the bustard, black grouse and the capercailzie perform sexual displays to attract females."

thanks.... just heading home for the weekend... smiley - smiley

have a good one yourself... smiley - cheers

Oh yes, for links.

The answer is yes, but there must have been a slip of the typing finger - it should be capercaillie - double l, no z

smiley - cheers
