Vestboy back in the UK

This week my wife went back to work on a staged return. This is such good news for us. We will be working on her driving over the next few months!

I don't intend to write too much here but I did want people to know that life is not too good at the moment. On Saturday while I was taking my daughter and her family to see a formal garden in NSW I received a very distressing message from a close friend in the UK. He told me that my wife had fallen downstairs and sustained a serious head injury. He told me that the doctors had said that I needed to be at the bedside asap.

I booked a flight straight back to the UK.

I am now in the Walton Centre at the Aintree Hospital in Liverpool. My wife has been in an induced coma since Saturday. She underwent significant surgery to remove a clot and her brain has swollen. Until the pressure goes down they will not wake her up. When she awakens we will know if there is any permanent damage.

I'm getting quite excited now. I am flying to the US of A on Thursday this week (31/5 or 5/31 - I need the practice) for a big gathering in Atlanta, Georgia. There will be about 500 people, with and without intellectual disabilities, meeting up to have a good time and get to know one another better.
Even though it's a long plane journey we get there the same day as we leave, with Sydney being 14 hours ahead of Atlanta. It does, however, take us 2 days to come home.

I may or may not be on line so much while I am in the land of the free. By the way how much of "the free" am I allowed to bring back through customs?

It's May and I'm in Sydney and I think its cold. I know that May is Autumn here but I know that it is probably like many summer days in England. I'm very disappointed with myself for getting so soft!
