Hiya BB, I have taken A87880459 to sub, please remember to subscribe
First query:
>>The title was inspired by an article that John wrote for Mersey Beat in 1961 explaining how the group had acquired the Beatles name, long before the ground were famous.<<
What is meant by "ground" there?

Yay - the Beatles-related dream team is back!
That should be 'group', although if you want to say 'they' instead to avoid repeating 'group', that's fine too.
Just thinking about the Emma More bit later on, perhaps we should change 'young girl' to 'young woman' just to avoid people getting the wrong idea.

I thought it was a reference to "football ground" or somesuch that I couldn't fathom!
girl = woman (although IMHO girls don't have breasts, and it's when they grown breasts that they become women)
Query #2:
Prince's home town of Minneapolis and was inspired to try and write a 'driving across America' song.
=
This is the first mention of Prince, I presume you mean "The artist formerly known as..." so I have added Prince Rogers Nelson (1958 – 2016). but I still don't get the connection to the album. Did he play a part in it?

Yep, I indeed meant the artist known as Prince between 1978-1993 and 2000-2016, being known as squiggle between 1993-2000. He didn't play a part in the album directly, just that Paul was in his hometown and so was inspired to write a Prince-like song. Just as if he had been in Memphis he may have chosen to write an Elvis-style song, or in Chicago he might have tried to create a Motown sound.

I have tweaked the sentence to make it a bit clearer
I've now finished the subbing duty so if you'd like to read it through, I'll return it for final polish
I have the "Diana – A Tribute" double cd (somewhere) so I will have to dig it out and play "Little Willow" as I don't remember it

Looks good to me. Just a couple of minor points to correct I spotted:
the The Traveling Wilburys
Sun Vallet – Valley
Once that's done, press the button!
By the way, did you find your album? It's not one I own.

All fixed and returned
Ah yes, that Diana album, it wasn't in the first two piles I checked, now I have to go through my cd rack which is no longer in alphabetical order
