Great to see you online again Craig!

That's all really. Just a random 'hello'.

The Dancing Tree

Hi chap

Well, I thought I'd better update the Dancing Tree page, seeing as it had the wrong country listed (I'm now resident in Iceland--living with my girlfriend). She (Ismarah) joined H2G2 this week, so I've been having a bit of a rummage on the site to see what's been going on since I vanished last year!

Are you still in touch with (m)any of the other oldies?

Sadly, many are gone...

A bunch of them still hang out over at Floor 42 (Spartus, Kate, Krissy, Amanda, etc) but they don't have time/interest for h2 any more.

You just missed John-the-Gardener - he's off exploring his local area to get more into the writing and less of the subbing. And Ginger the fiesty is completely tied up being a wife and homeowner.

I reckon that's most of the old bunch.

Me, I never get tired of my favourite way to deal with insomnia. smiley - winkeye

Is Iceland as beautiful as everyone says?
A friend of mine was stationed there in the US Air Force during the Cold War and he raves about it and says when he retires he's going to move there.

Ah well, I guess people just have too much to deal with! I know I gave up the subbing because I just didn't have time to do it properly, and didn't think that fair to the editors. I'm getting tempted to do the odd bit of writing now and again though. smiley - smiley

One who you didn't mention was Smily Ben, who I noticed online the other day, so I guess a few of the old gang are still around.

As for Iceland, it certainly is beautiful, and I can even see the mountains if I walk 50m to the end of the street! Within a couple of hours of driving, we have the fault line at Thinvillur, Geysir, and Gullfoss with its striking waterfalls. I'll be putting a site online soonish with a bunch of photos--I'll let you know when it's online if you like.

That'd be great.

Though I suspect that photos won't be able to do the scenery justice.

I just read ismarah's entry on Iceland.

What a great job! Really, I think it covers about everything I'd ever heard or read about Iceland.

Great, great stuff.

Hi JimiX... Yeah, it's a good article (at least now), although it was rather amusing when she was discussing it with the original author. Said person very obviously didn't realise she's Icelandic (or even a 'she' for that matter).

I gather that Ismarah also told you about the Icelandic pics site, too. Sorry, but I totally forgot to email you about them. What did you think of them, then?

They're brilliant!

I love those shots of the waterfall flowing into the sea. What an amazing landscape!

Three cheers for the Mid-Atlantic Rift! smiley - cheers

And after a summer-long drought, I looked at all those photos of flowing water and lush scenery and it rained here the next day!

Coincidence? Perhaps not. smiley - winkeye
