Hubby got me a card with a message that pretty much is right on the mark. The message reads,

to appreciate the finer things

in life like....

- classical music smiley - musicalnote

- literature smiley - book

- exotic food smiley - porkpie

- designer clothes smiley - diva

- extravagant holidays smiley - earth

....shame your bank balance

can't appreciate the

same things!!"

Tragic Axing of Hubble!

Is this safety concerns gone mad? It was tragic to loose the astronauts in the Columbia accident, but surely they wouldn't have approved of axing Hubble. A magnificent telescope which has given us glimpses into the universe, such as we'd never have been able to see without it! TRAGIC indeed!!!

After all the jollity of Christmas, I just think we should spare a thought for all the thousands of poor families in Iran who were devastated by a massive earthquake......
