RAF Wing... Lookee I'm Invisible!!

I needed to get you the list I promised. These books should get you started:

The People by Stephen Trimble - This is an overview of the indigenous people of the American Southwest handled with sensitivity and responsibility.

Indian Country by Peter Matthiessen - This is a somewhat dated but pretty much still relevant look at some contemporary indigenous issues in the United States. It will at least give you a good handle on what goes because it's alarming uniform in nature. Whatever's happened before just keeps happening under slightly different circumstances.

Po'i Pentum Tammen Kimmappeh (The Road on Which We came) by Steven J. Crum - This is an authoritative history of the Newe (Western Shoshone people) by a Newe scholar.

Hope you can learn something from these texts. And thanks so much for expressing an interest. Please take care.

Love,
Analiese

Thanks so much Analiese. I'll do my best to find them in the UK though I suspect I may have to order them from the States. I've bookmarked the RCO page and look forward to checking it out tonight.

Like I said in my reply to "Effectively gone" I do hope on staying in contact with you if that's ok with you though I know you may be inundated with e-mails by H2G2'ers now but I'll send you my e-mail address anyway via yours and hopefully you'll feel like staying in contact.

Many thanks for the titles and, above all, stay true to your ideals - I respect your stance enormously on everything you've posted.

Take care,

JT.

I don't know what your library situation is there but I suspect you'll have better luck at the library than anywhere else. I suppose it depends on the cooperative lending agreements between libraries that might exist.

Hope you have better days.
