Captain_SpankMunki [Keeper & Former ACE] Thanking <Diety of choice> for the joy of Goo.

I started this thread so I thought I had better ignore the back log and state me BlAdder preference. Amongst the background hiss of television it's hard enough to find something I remember let alone find worthy of mention but the final episode of the last series was superb. It really made it's mark for me.

However the time travelling special was a load of old poop.

Liam.

Zebedee (still Pool God after all these years)

Row, row, row your punt,
Gently down the stream,
Belts off!
Trousers down!
Isn't life a scream!

Oh, Edmund, I do love it when you get angry. Sometimes I just think of having you executed just to see the expression on your face!

There are too many episodes to choose from. Everyone has their favourite and because each episode opened a new chapter in the character's lineage, new jokes and situations where possible.

Blackadder is indeed an institution in British comedy, which cannot be copied, mimicked or resurrected with much success.

It is incredible how the catch-phrases from the series have found their way into everyday vocabulary.

I'll finish with a favourite.

"I'd rather be a lapdog to a slip of a girl than a..... git!"

I have to agree with Liam- the last epsisode was truly wonderful, especially the last five minutes or so when suddenly Blackadder stops being a comedy and becomes a drama. Magnificent.

- Don't forget your stick George.

- Oh no sir, I wouldn't want to face a machine gun without one of these!

Chris Barrie in series 3,

"I'm french, and I'm hung like a beby carrot and a couple of petit-pois!"

Classic.

Oh, and the time-travelling millennium edition was about as amusing as being hit in the head by an arrow, then finding there's a gas-bill attached.

i simply adore series two, it has all the best episodes and it has Queenie.

"This is the last, absolutely the last, cross my heart and hope to die... that's a bit much isn't it? cross my heart and hope to have my botty spanked until it's purple"

"Oh I do wish Edmund were here... he always wore very very tight tights"

"You've killed Nursey! That's horrid!"

"Nothing much has changed round here, apart from my nose getting a little prettier"

i also love the exchange between Blackadder and Queenie near the end of Chains (i think it's called)

Q: And me, did you miss me Edmund?
B: Ma'am, life without you was like a broken pencil...
Q: Explain?
B: Pointless.

how smooth is that? if someone pulled that line on me i'd be smitten smiley - smiley

i could go on for hours...

I agree about the very last episode on Blackadder goes forth, It shows that at the end we all have to do the jobs we hate.
