Think I've slipped a disc in my back. Couldn't sleep last night, so resorted to two tramadol.
Shouldn't have. Not only did it not help me sleep, it did weird things to my brain. Aside from seeing leopard spots every time I blinked, I quizzed L about the following things:
Q: Can she please reassure me that I don't have a Lego man head?
Q: Why is all snow called Dave?
Q: Where is the cat? Is the cat hungry?
The third one might not sound weird, but it did end up with me stark naked in the kitchen at 3am, attempting to make the cat a sandwich.
Don't do drugs kids. Drugs are bad.

Pub crawls are not necessarily a bad thing.
Pub crawls are a bad thing when you have 13 pints in 13 pubs, topped off with a whisky and a round of shots with Steve, because you're sorry you called Steve a dick, and you didn't mean it so of course we'll have some run.
Pub crawls are also a bad thing when you get plastered on 13 pints and a set of shots, then decide to see how much you can disturb your friends with not entirely truthful tales of sexual debauchery. In front of a glowering fiancee.
And pub crawls are probably a bad thing when you decide that if you have a daughter at any point, you're going to name her after your cousin, and decide to explain this on Facebook, leading to enquiries from your family about whether or not you've knocked up said glowering fiancee.
Oh, and don't play cock in pocket.

I'm in the process of cultivating my first coldsore in about five years. And as I do in times like these, I go to a pharmacy and spend money on something that's either an ineffective cure or an ineffective placebo.
But this time, I decided to read the application instructions:
"For mouth and lips only..."
So far, so good. That's where coldsores grow, after all.
"...do not use inside the mouth..."
Fair enough, someone might be daft enough to rub it inside their lips too, the weird buggers.
"...in the eyes..."
Coldsores? In the eyes?
"...or inside the vagina."
I've head of chapped lips, but that's ridiculous.

Homebrew Batch 3
Posted Mar 11, 2013
I've just added the dry hops to my third batch of homebrew. After a little taste, it reminds me a bit of Newcastle Brown Ale, but with a bit of a tang that only seems to appear in homebrew that uses big tins of malt extract.
Anyway, here's the recipe.
3kg Amber Malt Extract
450g Crystal Malt
225g Toasted Malted Barley
56g Fuggles Hops (Boil)
21g Cascade/Golding Hop Mix (Finish)
21g Cascade/Fuggles Mix (Dry Hopping)
Toast malted barley & steep w/ crystal malt at 180C for 30 mins
Sparge, add extract & boiling hops
Boil for 60m
Add finishing hops for 60 seconds
Sparge into bucket with enough water for 19l
Add yeast, leave it 10 days
Add Dry Hops, leave another week
Condition for 3-4 weeks
The gravity is higher than I'd like, as it seems to be stuck at 1.020. This has happened to every beer I've made. Hopefully in a week, it'll drop a bit and be stronger.
I'll let you all know in a month or so.
