Hi all
Been to *** and back.
Got better about 3 weeks ago.
Now the proud owner of a Redbone Hound named Lincoln.
He is long and red and has a saggy face and an ever busy nose!
He is 3-4 months old and we have had him for 5 days.
Shhhhh He is sleeping so I slipped away to post.
Yeah! I posted and have a puppy!

Happiest dog ever

Our buddy was euthanized in our home yesterday.
It was the most peaceful of all the experiences I've had with losing animals. I would recommend if in a similar mindset and situation. It is not for everybody.
Our buddy had cancer and was going to get worse.
He perked up after an appointment a while back in which he was ill and diagnosed. He did well again for a month or so, but was failing more every few days.
We loved sharing our life with him We are happy he had a peacefully spoiled retirement after his life long buddy died 2 years ago and before his illness set in.
We love you both very much and always will

improvements
Posted Jun 24, 2006
Well the plan has changed several times bt the result is I am feeling more comfortable in general.
The destruction is ongoing and seemingly unstoppable.
Fractures happened and will continue to happen.
The epidural injections to my lower back are not possible due to negative reactions to medications and an impossible path to the nerve roots.
So I am happy that I am more comfy for the moment, I can increase dosage when neccesary, not having a lot of side effects at least not new ones. The giggles from nowhere have subsided although I am able to giggle spontaneously where appropriate!
*************
Our had an appointment for euthanasia in our home.
We were relieved to know our Vet would do that.
We hated taking him somewhere to do this, home seemed kinder....
It was set a week ahead since he had only eaten 7 days out of 42.
He was getting more ill and with knowing the diagnosis we wanted to spare him the last and worst days.
After explaining the plan and telling him we hoped he might be able to stay longer, if he was up to it we would love it.
72 hours later he was playing, eating and doing things we had not seen in 3 months. 3 days later he is still eating, playing, sleeping and breathing better Life sure can have an unexplainable force of will to live!
A Day at a time
May the life forces feed you lovingly with comforts ,peace and the memory for thankfullness!

twinny and I
Posted May 23, 2006
Twinny and I are enjoying our time together.
I hope this is an excused absence from hooting
I wanted to share our favorite special moment.
I was going to post on WB's nature page but we wanted to be sure and remember it, so I'm placing it here.
Bird watching throughout the day through the new windows she enjoys as much as I, we saw this;
We see the same two birds fly in and land on the wires just above the feeder and inches from the window.
We noticed one was either one legged or injured.
Watching hopeful the leg would drop we witnessed the adult bird repeatedly bring the adult partner seed and drop it into the partners mouth.
Neither of us ever witnessed an injured adult bird being fed by another one Seed, not worms.
Maybe it is common, in any case, it was an umcommon delight for us!
I hope things are pretty good for all of you.
Let me know if you can or I'll catch you later for sure
Twinny is here for another week.
I think of you hootooers every day.
A special hug for Willem whom I read was feeling extra lonelyI hope it as passed.

Posted to Snailrind and Ivan and have to go for now.
Many more I would like to say hello to.
No good news to tell here.
Still waiting on the latest promising help, signed up and approved but not started..... so unable to be around much yet.
I see lots has happened in the last month.
I will not be starting up in a new site like others have mentioned if this one fizzles.
I will check in as long as some of the people I know or like to read are around. Email is certainly welcomed. Glad people are saying goodbye if they leave and leaving info about their other contacts and plans in some cases.
